Explore Oasis Park
Surround yourself with exotic trees and native plant life in the sprawling botanical garden, Oasis Park. You could spend hours strolling through Oasis Park, admiring the natural beauty before heading to the second attraction located within the park - a zoo. From African Elephants and hippos to birds of prey shows and sea lions, there’s an abundance of animals that call Oasis Park their home. You can even buy a bag of food to feed some of the more friendly residents, which is sure to be a hit with kids.
Hike the many mountains
Fuerteventura is renowned for its sprawling mountains, volcanoes and walking trails. Take time to explore your surroundings with a guided hiking tour. Professional hiking tours can be found online and are particularly helpful if you have little experience with hiking, or have never been to the area.
If trekking by foot isn’t for you, then why not go on a horseback ride up the mountains instead? A ranch hand will be available to teach you all the necessary skills. Race across the desert in a dune buggy
Get to grips with the dusty desert terrain on a dune buggy excursion. While this certainly isn’t for those of a nervous disposition, visitors get to see another side to the sunny island.
Discover dramatic views of volcanoes, beaches, villages and desert landscape with a thrilling guided tour behind the wheel of these heavy-duty vehicles. The adrenaline inducing terrain is great fun whether you’re an experienced driver or not.
Hit the beaches
Like the neighbouring Canary Islands, Fuerteventura is blessed with plenty of beaches. Explore over 200km of coastline to discover long stretches of white sand, small out of the way coves and beaches ideal for kite surfing.
In the north is Playa del Moro, with its rolling dunes and laidback atmosphere. At the southern tip, you’ll find Morro Jable. Here you’ll not only find great beaches but also discover the hatching ground of loggerhead turtles.
