If you’re after something a little more low-key, pay a visit to the amazing Neon Museum to see a colourful collection of former hotel and casino signs. Dating back to the 1930s, this vintage exhibit beautifully illustrates the history of the city.
If you’ve time to squeeze another museum in, make it the Mob Museum. Inside a revamped courthouse, you can learn more about the city’s links with organised crime.
Desert landscapes
With a rental car you’ll have the freedom to head outside Las Vegas and explore more of the surrounding area.
While there are plenty of conservation areas and parks to discover, the biggest draw here is the epic Grand Canyon. Drive through the dunes and cross the border into Arizona to experience one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
Its beauty is quite overwhelming, especially at sunset. Wander along the hiking trails and marvel at the soul-stirring views of the ancient red rocks. If you dare, head along the heart-pumping Skywalk, an exhilarating glass walkway jutting out from the rim of the canyon, with the bottom more than 2,000 feet below.
